New Word Challenge at Bird is the Word and other things in between...

Hello! First of all, I really hope and pray that all our friends in the East Coast are all doing okay after the hurricane and the tropical storm. We have family in Massachusetts and Virginia and we're so glad to hear that they're all doing okay..And I sincerely hope that my friends are all okay as well.

On a lighter note..There's a new word challenge at Bird is the Word. The new word is "Memory", or Memories.

Please post your work on the sidebar of the blog and please include a link to the blog when you post your entry on your own blog. The winner of this challenge will win a kit from
Tidbitz in Time. Submission must be received within 28 days from now. For more info, pls. visit the WEBSITE HERE....And also check out the beautiful work of the rest of the DT .

I made 2 projects for the "Memory" word..but I like the box better. That's what I submitted for my project.

This box I used one of my tags to decorate the top. I covered the lid with lace and a vintage doily. I handmade the flowers using shantung silk, organza, lace and tulle. Lately I have been on this flower-making kick. I just need to do something different, I need a break from paper crafting once in awhile.

Here is the LO I made using the same word, just not too thrilled with the result. This is a picture of my 2 small kids just having fun in front of the camera. I rarely can get a good picture of the 2 of them smiling, so I really like this picture.

That's all for today..In a couple of days I will post the new challenge for BERRY71BLEU. You still have time to submit for the August challenge. Make sure you follow the recipe and add your project to the Augsut Challenge Album that you can find on the side bar.

Have a great week ahead. Take care!!

Bird is the Word New Challenge "LOVE" and a giveaway

New challenge at Bird is the Word. The word is LOVE.

"Your challenge is to create a project using the word LOVE in your titling or journaling. You get four weeks to complete your project. Please link it up on the right side of the challenge site....at the end of four weeks our design team will vote on the entries and the winner receives a prize from Tidbitz in Time." Deadline to submit is 9/8/11. Check out the website
HERE for more info and to see what the other DT members had created with the word "Love"

Here is my take on it. I made a tag with it, since I love chocolate, why not make a project about it. Who doesn't love chocolate?

I am also giving this tag away. So leave me a comment for a chance to win one of my tags. I will randomly pick the winner next weekend and will announce it here. You can leave me a comment on FB too.

Whenever I'm running out of flowers on a certain color..I take out my handy-dandy yo-yo flower maker and just make flowers out of it. On this tags I used brown organza. And guess who decided to hang out with me while I'm taking these pictures?

Alyssa..she kept saying, "mama, me too! me too!" She wants me to put her picture on the tag just like the image. So I promised her that I will add her photo here since she was such a good assistant..or sistem as she would call it.

I have things I have to finish, but I will be back later to post the DTs projects and the new DT members for berry71bleu.

Thanks for letting me share this with you..

August Guest Design Team Members

I am so happy to announce this month's Guest Design Team for BERRY BLEU. First of all we thank our guest designers for making such beautiful work with the tags. We hope you will get inspired by their projects and check out our
ETSY SHOP for tags similar to what our designers used.

IRIS BABAO UY

I am a scrapper from The Philippines, a wife and a mother to two sweet girls Nicole & Cheska. I
rarely plan my pages – I let a photo or a patterned paper inspire me and I take it from there. I love
the shabby chic and romantic style but I also enjoy working with bold patterns and striking colors.
I’m an ink and paint type of person. I just have to get it a little messy to consider my page done. If
I don’t have ink and paint on hand, then I just tear little bits of elements and stick it randomly for
the sheer fun of itJ

I am fortunate to be designing for Webster’s Pages, Fancy Pants Designs, and Lily Bee Designs.
I was also named as one of the first two Prima Masters. I am also currently a designer for a
wholesale store in Australia – Aussie Scrapsource. One of the things I consider to be among
my accomplishments in crafting industry have been named as one of the 2008 Memory Makers
Magazine Masters and I am thankful for the blessings which have come my way as an artist and
will continue to be thankful for the happiness and fulfillment that I get from this craft.

I am very honored to be a sponsored designer for Berrybleu and I look forward to creating with
the gorgeous and unique handmade treasures from Berrybleu.

MICHELLE MARKS

I am 43 yr old Dialysis nurse who only works to support her scrapbook addiction..err...hobby! I' have always been a crafty sort of person and have tried my hand at numerous crafts over the years but have found my love in scrapbooking as it combines several things that are very important to me...my love of family tree research, photography, and an artistic outlet. I'm mom to two teenagers..Chelsea , who just graduated from high school and Scott , age 16 who lives for anything that moves fast...cars, dirt bikes but mostly his beloved skidoo! That boy has turned my hair grey! I've been married to my wonderfully tolerant hubby , Rob for 21 years , who, I'm happy to say does more than his share of housework so I can have more time to hang out in my scraproom! I've been published in Canadian Scrapbooker magazine 8 times and have recently started hosting and teaching crops in my hometown as the nearest scrapstore is eight hours away! Thank God for on-line shopping!

Here are the rules:

"The simple rules for this challenge are:
**This is an international blog, so anyone can enter
- Do a project with the theme of Father´s Day;
- If you want to partcipate the following Challenge with a layout or card, it should follow the project made by Angiei
- * Use any material recycledlike like cardboard, bottle caps , empty soap box, chocolates, etc. ...

* You will always find our challenges in a rule to use recycled material, this rule is fixed,is required to contain this item in your project, to be eligible for the draw.

** The deadline for this challenge is midnight August 31st
The Design Team will vote and the winner and the Top 5 projects will be announced soon after the challenge has finished.
**You may enter as many times as you like and combine this with other challenges.
**Also, please consider turning off word verification for comments on your blog.

Or Simply visit their blog BY CLICKING HERE
. You will find more information by visiting the blog, plus you will find beautiful projects done by the talented DT's.

Here is my take on it:

My husband and my son at the beach around Christmas time a couple years ago in Destin, FL.

I used old stuff from my collection: A vintage part of a wooden measuring stick, an old bottle cap, and an old rummage pin I found.

Next Project is for BIRD IS THE WORD

"Our new word today is DREAM.
Of course DREAMS, DREAMED and DREAMING are also acceptable!

What you are required to do for this challenge is to create a layout, card or off-the-page/altered art project using the word DREAM {or one of the derivatives of the word DREAM mentioned above}.

You have FOUR WHOLE WEEKS to complete your project & load it in our sidebar using the Inlinkz tool under the correct word DREAM.
(as there are always 2 challenges running concurrently as we reveal a new word here every fortnight).

At the end of the challenge our Design Team will vote for their top 5 layouts & the winner & 4 featured projects will be displayed here, together with links to their respective blogs.

The winner will receive a complete Tidbitz in Time kit of their choice, posted anywhere in the world, while the winner & 4 finalists will all be entitled to display a "Bird is the Word - Featured Winner" badge on their blogs, that will be supplied here when the winners are announced."

You can follow this sketch by Nadia if you wish, but it is not required.

Here is mine:

I used the Flea Market Collection for this page. The flowers were all die-cut from the same collection.

Join these challenges for great prizes...Make sure you visit BIRD IS THE WORD and check out the samples from the other DT members' projects..I promise you, you will be amazed!

Thank you...See you soon.
